AmeriCorps State provides funds to local and national organizations and agencies committed to using national service to address critical community needs in education, disaster services, economic opportunity, health, and environmental stewardship. A total of $1,799,987 federal grant funding was awarded for 2018-2019 AmeriCorps Programs and a total of $2,034,000 awarded for 2019-2020 AmeriCorps Programs.
Serve Guam Commission currently administers funds to four (4) programs throughout Guam. And listed as follows:

Capacity Building (Volunteer Recruitment and Management) - Increasing the operational effectiveness of all AmeriCorps programs; expanding the range of services provided; and improving external relations, reflection, analysis, skill building, networking, and action. Disaster Services: Members will engage the kindergarten and elementary students, community and volunteers in disaster preparedness through the use of interactive tsunami, earthquake, typhoon puppet show, deliver disaster presentation outreach for the middle and high school students; facilitate and assist in various volunteer, disaster service and training programs such as: First Aid, CPR AED, GPD’s Neighborhood Watch Program, GHS/OCD’s Guam Youth Preparedness Program, Guam Emergency Response Teach (CERT) and Teen CERT Programs, National Incident Management System (NIMS) Compliant Courses, FEMA courses, Disability Integration and GHS/OCD’s disaster simulation and training exercise.
